In this article entrepreneur and marketing innovator François Gossieaux states that traditionally people tend to network more when economic times turn bad and unemployment is on the rise. That’s why he advises companies to engage now:

“So the counter-intuitive thing to do in this economic downturn – engage more aggressively with your customers, prospects and detractors in social media and social networks.”

Looking at myself, I don’t network more often than I used to. Not online and not offline. And I don’t particularly see more people using network platforms like LinkedIn or Facebook. Does anyone see a change? Or is it too early to see that? Or is the crisis not deep enough (yet) (in Belgium / Europe)?
