Hi, I am Dorien aka ‘theonehitwonder’.

I love to travel, read, learn, observe and discover.

With one motto: “A life without passion is a wasted life”.

I like the small stories in people’s lives. At the Brussels Girl Geek Dinners, at the JCI team I am part of, at the Spanish classes I follow or at weekends with friends I get inspired by people. They help me discover my borders, cross them, believe in myself, create new things, organise projects.

-2004-2007: journalist for Het Belang van Limburg and/but above all initiator and later project manager of the citizen journalism project HasseltLokaal.

-2007:  at CityLive, a start-up specialised in mobile. I was the community manager, dealing with viral marketing and the several clients and users of our projects.

-from 2008 onwards: project manager and online communication manager @ software company anaXis.

And just because I’m pretty proud of it. I organised the very first Belgian mobile webcamp in Hasselt.

And a ‘fait divers’ to end this about-page in beauty: A warm summer breeze, a pina colada, a great spot at the sea and some nice people with me, is all I need for my ‘perfect moment’. Hmmmm 😉
